"Ruptured Series" is a set of tests and explorations using construction-grade sheetrock as the primary material. In a home, a hole in the drywall will not compromise its physical stability, but it does depict vulnerability, betraying its assumed strength. Holes are patched and filled, sanded and painted -- all to hide the reality that something has been punctured, a rupture has occurred. Like holes in the wall, wounds too are often covered up, hidden, and healed -- to display a wound is to display that one is susceptible to violence. The "Ruptured Series" is an investigation of materiality and an attempt to intentionally display the ruptures that are often hidden.
